BTLITM (BTL Institute of Technology and Management) is affiliated to VTU and has five branches of engineering. BTLITM is run the B.T.L. Educational Trust For Rural Development, which is one of the Premier Educational Organizations working for the upliftment of rural poor people. Its origin dates back to 1979. The key figure responsible for all the activities is Sri. B.T. Lakshman, an N.R.I, at present staying in U.S.A.

THE B.T.L. EDUCATIONAL TRUST FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT is one of the Premier Educational Organisations working for the upliftment of rural poor people. Its origin dates back to 1979. The key figure responsible for all the activities is Sri. B.T. Lakshman, an N.R.I, at present staying in U.S.A .

The important aims and objectives of the Trust are :

• To start and manage Educational Institutions with the Primary object of giving Education to rural people.
• To start and manage Technical Institutions with the primary object of giving occupational oriented Education to rural people.
• To build and manage Rural health dispensaries.
• To create endowments to award financial assistance to Rural students to pursue education.
• To assist and promote student exchange and cultural exchange programmes between India and U.S.A.
• To raise necessary funds and create a healthy environment, a Foundation called “B.T.L. Foundation for International Services” was founded in U.S.A. during 1979.

THE B.T.L. INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT was founded in the year 1997-98.
